New Mexico Voices for Children is officially launching the call for nominations for the 3rd annual Alice King Public Service Award and the 1st annual Patty Jennings and Polly Arango Citizen Advocacy Award. These awards go to men and women who work to make their communities, the state, and the nation better places for children and families. You can nominate New Mexicans who do this work as their career, as well as those who do it as volunteers. Nomination forms are attached. Honor someone you know who is making a difference in your community! Deadline to submit is Friday, August 12, 2011.

Welcome to the New Mexico Early Childhood Resource Site

The purpose of this website is to facilitate communication, information sharing and linkage between all those working to improve outcomes for New Mexico’s young children and their families. It provides linkages to resources helpful in building strong, comprehensive, early childhood systems for New Mexico’s young children and their families at the state and local levels.

The website is a repository for resources and materials linked to the work of the New Mexico Early Childhood Action Network.


About Us

PURPOSE OF Early Childhood Action Network (ECAN)
The purpose of the ECAN is to:

  • Bring together public and private early childhood leaders from all sectors;
  • Encourage collaboration, linkages, support, and alignment of early childhood programs and systems affecting all New Mexico young children and families;
  • Promote family participation in early childhood services and policy making; and
  • Provide information to appropriate early childhood stakeholder groups.

ECAN is an open network for all those interested in making a measurable difference in the well being of young children.

Contact Your Legislators & Governor's Office: Ask them to protect our youngest children and their families by holding early childhood programs harmless from state budget cuts.
